CBT Exam Tips: How to Do Well in a Computer-Based Test
By the PassSpark team · 2026-10-22 · CBT, JAMB
Computer-based tests feel different from paper. Small habits make a big difference.
Before the exam
- Practise on a computer or phone screen, not only on paper.
- Learn to read questions on a screen without losing your place.
- Visit your centre beforehand if you can, so the route is not a surprise.
During the exam
- Watch the timer, but do not stare at it.
- Use the question navigator to flag and return to hard questions.
- Check that your answer is selected before moving on.
- Keep your hands calm: avoid double clicks and accidental navigation.
If something goes wrong
Raise your hand and tell the supervisor immediately about screen freezes or login problems. Do not try to fix technical issues yourself.
Build the habit with timed practice on JAMB practice or any exam on PassSpark.
